What is Makhana?
Makhana, also known as Foxnut, Lotus Seed, or Phool Makhana, comes from the Euryale Ferox plant, a species of water lily found in stagnant waters such as ponds and wetlands. This crop has been cultivated in India—particularly in the Mithilanchal region of Bihar—for centuries and is often used in traditional medicine like Ayurveda and Chinese medicine for its healing properties.
